Seafood Mac N Cheese



  • 8oz Surimi, flaked
  • 1 Cup Uncooked Macaroni
  • 1.5 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Yellow Onion
  • 1.5 Tablespoon A&P Flour
  • 2 Cup Half N Half
  • 2 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Cup Shredded White Cheddar
  • Salt and Pepper


Bread Crumbs

  • 1.5 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Panko
  • 2 Tablespoon Parmesan
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Granulated Garlic


Instructions For Bread Crumbs

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave.
  2. Mix the panko, parmesan, and garlic together in a bowl, season with salt. 
  3. Add the melted butter and mix well, ensuring the butter coats the breadcrumbs. Set aside.


Instructions for Mac-n-cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.  Boil the macaroni in salted water until tender. Strain, rinse and set aside. 
  2. Using a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the onion. 
  3. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the onions are soft. 
  4. Next, stir in the flour until incorporated with the butter forming a paste. 
  5. Add the half N half and Dijon, season with salt and pepper.  Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes and remove it from heat. 
  6. Stir in the shredded cheese next, and then add the pasta, mix well ensuring the pasta is coated with the cheese sauce. 
  7. Fold in the surimi flakes last.
  8. Pour mixture into a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs, bake 30-45 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown. 
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
